STUDENT DEBT WARNINGS

Students have to live – but at what cost? The potential for any student to run up debt is alarming.  For those

from less financially blessed or supportive backgrounds the risk is even higher.

Many talented young people drop out of worthwhile courses through fear of increasing debt. Others

never even start for the same reason. Sadly, we hear of even more tragic consequences.

We run a free to access website, supply free anonymous email support and forums, send out a free

monthly newsletter full of tips for living happily and healthily on very little money, and much more besides.

By doing so we hope to raise substantial funds to enable Universities to request further Student

Hardship funds from us for cases identified as most in need.

All we ask of your establishment is that you – PLEASE – email us back at

letterbox@pennypapers.com  confirming your acceptance of the free newsletter each month. It will

suffice to say that you would wish to subscribe to our newsletter, and that you have a total number

students and staff of xxxx to whom you will forward this newsletter by internal email every month, in

order for us to generate a substantial seed bed for advertising. If every University and College can just do

this one simple thing we can then work on our advertisers to fill a new page linked to our main website.

We guarantee that a minimum of 50% of the total revenue obtained from our advertisers will be directed

straight into good causes.  As an example, if we could – optimistically - raise £500,000 per year from our

advertising clients, then a minimum of £250,000 would be available for the Student Hardship applications

as well as for the small charities we have pledged to help. In fact, if we make the sum above then 75% will

be pledged!

Once we have sufficient funds available then we will welcome considered applications, from any

Educational establishment that has joined our mailing list, for additional hardship funds for cases they

believe are deserving of further financial support.

We are not looking to make fortunes for ourselves. We need only the administrative costs of the

business and basic salaries of the few people involved in running the company, from the residual 

revenue. Should the revenue be higher than our objective above, we would be free to keep offering even

more support.

We will make our accounts available on request, at any time, to demonstrate our integrity and our

commitment to our aims.

For our advertisers we offer not just a well subscribed newsletter and heavily used website etc, through

which to highlight their budget products and services, but also the free transmission of their relevant

editorial submissions.

Our little ‘table top business’ has developed on the back of experience with student offspring and their

debt problems, and even our own personal hardships, but also experience in the Financial world and

Welfare work.

We want to help ease Student worries so our young people can move forward with less debt, which surely

must be a good thing? And in doing this we also want to help some small charities – at no cost to any

student or educational establishment.

It is so simple to help and we hope that you will be able to let us know that you can join us in this project
