The aim of this website is - primarily - to LISTEN to what YOU want! And not just us but everyone else out there - to listen to each other!
So, we want you to let us know what you need to know in order to help ease yourself out of debt or general hardship. After all, who needs another website singing the same old song of sixpence? We all know that we should scour the charity shops and low cost fashion stores, hover endlessly around the 'Reduced' aisle in the supermarket, save on utilities bills, not go to expensive coffee shops... Yes! You know all this already.
We are not in the business of teaching anyone to suck eggs. Neither do we set out to give you the proverbial fish that will feed you for a while but rather we want to help you fish for, and then share, the skills that will sustain you through life. You will not find endless links to CHEAP anything.
The Penny Papers is not about 'cheap' but rather about making the very BEST of a poor situation. It is about establishing a framework of your own and accessing the information - a FREE yet priceless resource, but never cheap! - and the people you will find here on The Penny Papers website.
But we hope to do more. Much more! However black our own days might seem in these financially troubled times we should never forget that there are others who live darker lives than we could even begin to imagine. They need our help too.
Amongst the pages that follow you will find out how The Penny Papers hopes to be able to raise the money to assist with providing additional Student hardship funds and also for the small charity concerns that do such good work but, sadly, get overlooked all too often. We will raise this money because of you, rather than from you.
While we want to offer you this site - its links to useful sources and low cost deals, its links to others in the same boat, as well as our email news update just once a month, for FREE - we hope we will become an appealing forum for advertisers. We hope that our extremely low cost advertising page will be another reason for advertisers to join us on this misson. That is how we will raise our funds.
BUT WE WANT TO OFFER YOU AND OUR ADVERTISERS A PLEDGE - that 50% of ALL advertising revenue received by The Penny Papers will be forwarded to small charities and a hardship fund for students. We will detail total advertising income and and any other payments received alongside the destination of that pledged percentage EVERY MONTH! And the more advertising revenue we can raise the more we can give over to these causes - say, 60%, even 75%!
By simply signing up for the free email update and using this site regularly, whilst at the same time helping yourself through financial issues, YOU will be helping others! You win - they win! And the advertisers? We will give them whatever space they require on our linked weblog, in which they can have published all relevant editorial matter they wish to highlight, provide links to their websites, and make sure you all know who is helping us with this exercise!
And if we do fabulously well in gaining advertising revenue then put some of your own ideas for its use to us. What else would you like us to help with? And, if the wish is there, what about linked advertising pages for each County where local businesses can advertise knowing that 75% - yes 75%! - of revenue on those respective County pages will be passed over to local good causes? We are not looking to pour vast sums of money into our own pockets but to help others in the way some of us might have wished we could have been helped through our own hard times. We are a kitchen table set up and only need to earn our crust. We are not in the business of exploiting anyone.
